Crete Preveli Rethymno: The beach of Preveli is situated 40 km south of the main town and is the most idyllic beach in Rethymno. Preveli reminds of an exotic lagoon. It is an oasis of palm trees with crystalline greenish waters and fine soft sand. Kourtaliotis River ends at this wonderful beach, creating a delta. Apart from the superb palm trees, lush vegetation surrounds the beach and the river, creating a dreamy landscape. Because of its extreme beauty, the Preveli Beach unfortunately gets very crowded during high season. This wonderful place can be reached by foot from the parking nearby the Preveli Monastery or by fishing boats which leave regularly from Plakias and Agia Galini.
Plakias Rethymno: Plakias beach is located 40 km south of Rethymno town. It is a beautiful sandy beach with wonderful clean waters and fully-organized infrastructures such as sun beds, umbrellas, various sea sports, hotels, rooms for rent, taverns, cafes and restaurants. In the nearby resort visitors will be able to find everything in term of accommodations and entertainment.
Crete Triopetra Rethymno: Triopetra (=three stones) beach owes its name to the three imposing rocks found in its waters. It is located 52 km south of Rethymno town and 13 km north of Akoumia village.The beach of Triopetra is long and sandy. Due to its geographical position, it is frequently affected by southern winds. However, it remains popular due to its crystal waters. There are some accommodation options close to this beach and nice taverns with excellent seafood. Triopetra beach is mostly famous for the wide range of water sports and for its lovely sunset that creates beautiful colors in the sky. To go to Triopetra beach, you have to go to Akoumia village and then take a difficult track. When you are about to reach the beach, you have to continue on foot for about 5 minutes.
